About Me

Hi, I'm Amy Brehm, and as you know from coming to this site, I spend quite a lot of time painting miniatures. In my spare time, I play a lot of board games, or even card games and Times Up. I also try to go Skiing and Snowboarding as often as I can possibly afford.

I am a student, and am very slowly earning my college degree (one class here, one class there.) By the time I am done, I will have many more credits than I need for a degree, but for me it's more important to learn things that interest me than to have that so touted piece of paper. I am halfway to an Engineering degree, to an English degree, to a Fine Arts degree... and probably a few others as well. No end in sight as of now.

I started painting in general when I was 13. At first it was oils on canvas, and then I moved to watercolors, then pastels, pastels on watercolors, mixed media... I enjoyed it all. I even had a couple shows. But- I didn't really like to put a price on my paintings and I spent long enough thinking about each painting that I also didn't want to sell them (I'm imagining a dragon hoarding a pile of paintings and that's about right.) And then I discovered miniatures; I love to play games and so at first I bought them to play with. Now I only paint.

I've been painting miniatures for about 5 years now, 3 of those years professionally. Most of my miniatures are sold through EBay, but I do accept commission work on occasion.

I have painted as a Freelance Artist for Reaper Miniatures Privateer Press, Anima Tactics, and Freebooter. I have taught classes on miniature painting at every Reaper Artist Conference and Reaper Con for the last 3 years, and have also taught classes at the various Gen Cons I've attended over these years.
